Tom Brady Using His Fame for Good
By now most of you have probably heard that Tom Brady has been trying to help his mentor get a kidney donor. This is a great example of an athlete using his fame to help another individual. Often times we hear about athletes abusing their power and fame to get things for themselves or do things that are considered selfish. By going public and asking people to step forward and donate a kidney more than 70+ people have stepped up to try and help. My question is why did it take someone that he knew and was close to in order for him to raise awareness about this? Often times athletes could do so much to help others and they dont realize it until it affects their family members/friends.
I had not yet heard about this, and it was a very nice thing to read. I agree that it is wonderful when famous people use their fame to help others in a positive way. I'll be honest that I didn't really hold Tom Brady in a high place on my list of spectacular people (not a huge Patriots fan), but after hearing this I have a lot more respect for him. Maybe he will inspire other athletes or famous people to do the same!
